Slide 15: ... to MDD Tables


In a multidimensional database, info cubes are realized in database tables. For each dimension one column has to be added in the table. For each analysis variable, an additional column is needed.

For each value of the analysis variable a data set has to be created. Each of these data sets is identified by the combination of the categories to which it belongs.

Queries of the info cube can find the needed values according to the dimensions which are of interest for analysis. Since the dimensions are defined directly from the potentially wanted output tables, queries on info cubes are easier to understand.
