Data in the CRSN are mainly processed on three levels:
- Data are collected from the population on paper questionnaires. Data from old censi are verified and new data are recorded.
- The data from the questionnaires are entered into a central database, which contains all demographic data on the population and technical information on the collection process. It is optimized to support data collection activities in the field and data entry procedures in the CRSN on a qualitatively high level. It also serves as a base for the integration of additional CRSN activities as well as for external studies.
- For further analysis, data are extracted and aggregated from the database according to the respective research question. These extracts range from small sized tables with demographic figures to almost complete extracts as for the collaborating institute at Heidelberg University.
