1. Preface
When the late Omukama of Toro Kingdom had chosen a high hill at the foot of the Rwenzori Mountains as site for his new palace, the elders warned him, that the place was bewitched. But the chosen hill had a far sight into the kingdom and could be seen from far. So Omukama decided to ignore the warnings, saying "Kabarole!" - "Let them see!", and built the palace. After this the hill was named "Kabarole". (Taken from Kitooro)
With the restructuring of Uganda into todays districts, the name was given to the district, which encloses Kabarole Hill and the heartlands of Toro Kingdom. This program was named "Kabarole!"
to pay respect to the people and the members of the health management team of Kabarole District. Additionally, the name expresses the wish that the program shall be a tool for the health management team, which can
help them "see" during the process of decision making.
